Chance Encounters

The year is 3000. Various alien cultures make contact and meet for the first time. Their only means of communication is through sound.

In a project for multiple groups of schools and/or community groups, Sinfonia Verdi musicians introduce children to the sound world of the orchestra and musical communication in a series of enthralling interplanetary workshops.

Each group (or “alien culture”) is taken on a musical exploration of sound, of translating dramatic ideas into musical communication, composing and performing their own music, and creating a 15-minute piece with musicians of the orchestra providing accompaniment.
